Sinipiiat

Sinipiiat (sing. sinipiika) are dancing young forest maidens, similar to fairies of fairytales. They are harmless. They were not worshipped, so they do not count as deities or haltijat.

The folklore about sinipiiat is mainly limited to Western Finland. There is one mention of the term in runosongs, from North Ostrobothnia, where it is used to refer to Mielikki.

Sinipiika means "blue maid". This is in line with how runosongs describe the forest as blue, and Mielikki having some blue clothes such as a blue cape.
